Advantages of Air Shafts and Chucks
Advantages of Air Shafts and Chucks
- Pays for itself in very little time due to decreased down time during roll changes.
- No tools necessary.
- Empty cores remove instantly.
- Less chance of telescoping rolls when placing roll on arbor.
- No parts to remove or lose.
- Compensates for wide variation of core inside diameters automatically.
- Eliminates possibility of core damage.
- Drives equally in both directions (accelerating and decelerating)
- Interchangeable with any arbor mounted type chuck.
Unique Design Features
- Fully expanded periphery for maximum holding power.
- Leaves are limited by "U" shaped restrainers in order to prevent over expansion (inflation without a core does not damage bladder)
- Bladder is fully protected by leaves and restrainers whether inflated or deflated.
- Return springs are provided to bring leaves back to minimum diameter when deflated.
- Large bladder diameter produces maximum possible holding torque.
Features
- Only 0.0625" (1.5mm) difference between core & shaft diameters. Thus a 3" (76mm) core chuck has a 0.0625" (1.5mm) max. I.D. for shaft insertion.
- Long, maintenance-free operation since contact with the core I.D. is made with wear-resistant aluminum gripping leaves.
- Greater gripping pressure, which is achieved through the combination of the spiral-wound tubing and gripping leaves.
- Minimum down-time since the rubber tubing size is standard on all size chucks, is available in our factory that requires only few minutes for replacement
- Deflated Diameter = .0625" (1.5mm) under nominal core size Inflated Diameter = .1875" (4.7mm) over nominal core size
Unique Benefits
- Positive locking over the full core length.
- Greater gripping pressure.
- No core damage due to reaming ... less down-time for roll changes.
- Virtually maintenance-free operation ... aluminum locking leaves resist wear.
- Minimum down-time ... standardized rubber tubing available easily attached to air valve ... can be replaced in minutes.
SATGURU'S shafts and chucks require only 50-80psi input to fully inflate.
