Do’s & Don't - SATGURU'S suggestions for safe operation of AIR-SHAFTS.

Don't

  1. Don't operate with a damaged or bent shaft.
  2. Don't use shaft with less than 50 psi. Unless specifically designed as a low Pressure shaft.
  3. Don't leave a shaft inflated when it is not in use, for any length of time i.e over a weekend. A fully inflated air shaft will stretch the bladder, eventually stretching it to the point that the lugs or buttons will not retract below the surface of the body, making it difficult to insert into core.
  4. Don't use compressed air from a lubricated line. Oil will quickly ruin a rubber bladder
  5. Don't operate a winder at such a speed as to make the roll bounce.
  6. Don't overload an air shaft. Know the shafts limits.
  7. Don't support a heavy narrow roll on a shaft, causing it to bend.
  8. Don't use a shaft with broken bolts.

Do

  1. Keep shaft in good condition.
  2. Use a thread compound on the valve threads. Don't use Teflon tape it strings off and can get into the valve seat, preventing a seal.
  3. Cover all exposed lugs, buttons, or leaves with scrap cores for safety. This also stops the lugs, button, or leaves from bending at the end of the core, which eventually leads to failure. This will help prevent loose material from being caught by the rotating projections.
  4. Repair leaking shafts asap. Check valve first.
  5. Use the proper inflator.
  6. Use the safety type push button valves i.e. SATGURU'S NRV 160 to 183 series valves.
  7. Use recommended replacement parts.
  8. Use proper safety measures for operating with compressed air.
